Into the Madding Crowd – Eras Collide at the Triangle Tweed Ride

A year ago, a friend of mine posted on Facebook some of his photos from the 2012 Triangle Tweed Ride, an annual celebration of clothing, styles, and bikes from a bygone era, and part of the larger Oaks and Spokes bicycle festival. Set in Raleigh’s historic City Market, argyles, plaids, and spectacles mingle with iPhones, sleek carbon fiber street bikes, and digital cameras. Having seen his photos, I knew I had to get in on the action and get some photos of this mash-up of old and new, a celebration of two-wheeled vehicular transportation and all things tweed.
