The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival

FullFrame1-8729

This week I find myself fortunate to be photographing the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival for the second year in a row. Last year, I was limited to two relatively short days–this year, I’m in it to win it, working four shifts that cover filmmaker introductions, question and answer sessions, parties, awards, milieu, atmosphere. Several people have asked why I like photographing Full Frame–it is a volunteer position, and every venue is perpetually light challenged–and I don’t know that I have a great answer. There’s an energy around it that’s infectious, and I am very proud that my hometown has such a prestigious film festival each year. I guess I am happy to document the documentaries, and am satisfied taking the photos for their own sakes.

Anyway, for the folks who have never attended the festival, I thought you might like a little glimpse into what the festival is like.
